My dear readers, too long have we witnessed the injustices perpetrated on innocent people in our culture based on sexual orientation and gender identity. We must take and stand for what is right and just. We must band together to create change both within our own communities and globally. Now is our time to stand up and reclaim our identities, our community, and our liberation.
We must find the sources of these injustices and rip them out at the root. We must not only defend our own community, but we must defend all who are oppressed. We must come together and form a unified front in the face of the tyranny upheld by social conservatism. We must not submit to integrationism or bend to the stereotypes that our oppressors have created for us in order to keep us enslaved. Our strength lies in our diversity, our creativity, and our ability to survive the adversity we have been forced to endure.
We must defend our great culture against those who would seek to destroy it. We must replace our bitterness and anger with love for our GLBT brothers and sisters. We must reach out and help those within our community who have been injured both physically. We must embrace all of our community, from our drag and leather scenes, to our proud gay families, to our trans brothers and sisters.
But, we cannot win this battle alone. We must join hands with others who are held down. We must realize what is important to all of us, the ability to live our lives and be offered the same liberties and opportunities as everyone else. When we come together we are no longer a scattered collection of minorities, we become the majority.
